Wow, what a great ABC (Art, Beer and Chocolate) evening we had at The Green Brush art studio in Watermael- Boitsfort. Look at these amazing results of the painting workshop. And yes, we all enjoyed the Beer and Chocolate too!

Grape Ale IX noir (6.5%) brewed by Gooische Brouwerij in Hilversum (the Netherlands).
This 9th grape ale of my favourite Dutch brewery is made with cabernet noir grapes and roasted malts. The result is something quite different and absolutely divine: a tasty dark beer with notes of red wine, chocolate and grains.

Oude Geuze (6%) brewed and blended by Brouwerij Kestemont in Dilbeek (Belgium).
A tasty blend of different years of Kestemont lambic aged on oak barrels. Very mild acidity and a subtle hint of wood. Easy drinking and very enjoyable!

Duvel Imperial Blond (10%) brewed by Brouwerij Duvel Moortgat in Puurs (Belgium). They have started experimenting with the classic Duvel beer and brought out this delicious brewmasters' selection. Darker in colour and stronger than the classic. The beer has a lot of malty and alcohol sweetness and less bitterness due to a different hop balance, giving it the feel of a triple. A surprising choice to go for a stronger beer in these times where lower and non-alcoholic beers seems to be the norm for new beers. Big like for this beer though!👍

Saison village (5.5%) brewed by Brasserie Silly in Silly (Belgium).
A tasty organic saison: full bodied and malty with a hint of citrus, a yeasty aroma and a long and dry finish.

Leignon blonde (5.9%) brewed by Brasserie Leignon at Leignon Castle in Ciney ( Belgium). 
A blonde beer made with four types of grains (barley, wheat, spelt and oats). On pouring the beer immediately had a lot of pieces of yeast floating around which was not great. The beer had a grainy taste and quite a lot of (unintended?) brett.

Beer de garde ambree imperiale (9.9%) brewed by Gooische Bierbrouwerij in Hilversum (the Netherlands).

Ooh la la! Strong and sweet with a delicious malty body with notes of roasted grains, red fruit, strong alcohol and some yeasty bitters. Yum!

Speciale Belge (5.5%) brewed by Ardennes Brewery in Geneva, New York (usa). A tasty amber ale in a very traditional Belgian beer style. Light in alcohol but rich in flavour from the slightly roasted and caramel malts Yum!

Duvel barrel aged n.10 Mexican Edicion (12%) brewed and aged by Brouwerij Duvel Moortgat in Puurs (Belgium).

The result is an even stronger Duvel with a sweet and alcoholic aroma, and notes of wood, vanilla and caramel in the taste. A beer to sip and enjoy slowly.

Leignon blonde (5.9%) brewed by Brasserie Leignon at Leignon Castle in Ciney ( Belgium).
A blonde beer made with four types of grains (barley, wheat, spelt and oats). On pouring the beer immediately had a lot of pieces of yeast floating around which was not great. The beer had a grainy taste and quite a lot of (unintended?) brett.

Beer de garde ambree imperiale (9.9%) brewed by Gooische Bierbrouwerij in Hilversum (the Netherlands).

Ooh la la! Strong and sweet with a delicious malty body with notes of roasted grains, red fruit, strong alcohol and some yeasty bitters. Yum!

Speciale Belge (5.5%) brewed by Ardennes Brewery in Geneva, New York (usa). A tasty amber ale in a very traditional Belgian beer style. Light in alcohol but rich in flavour from the slightly roasted and caramel malts Yum!

Duvel barrel aged n.10 Mexican Edicion (12%) brewed and aged by Brouwerij Duvel Moortgat in Puurs (Belgium).
For the tenth edition of the Duvel barrel aging project the brewery used Mexican agave spirit (tequila) barrels.
The result is an even stronger Duvel with a sweet and alcoholic aroma, and notes of wood, vanilla and caramel in the taste. A beer to sip and enjoy slowly.

Low in alcohol, but full of flavour. Lots of roasted and chocolate malts especially with a very dry finish.

Tervoerke IPA (5.1%) brewed for Tervoerke in Tervuren at Brouwerij Craywinckelhof in Lubbeek (Belgium).
This IPA was brewed with barley malt and wheat, giving it a pale and hazy appearance. It has a solid malty body with a nice fruity hoppiness and quite a bitter mouth feel.
